Dr. K.T. Mohammed Rabeeh Rabeeulla is the Chairman and Managing Director of Shifa Al Jazeera Medical group, the leading healthcare conglomerate in the GCC. He is also the Chairman of Nasim Jeddah Medical Group, Nasim Al Rabeeh Medical Group and Safa Makha Medical Group. He is the Chairman of Gate of Jazeera Palace Restaurant in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Rabeeh has climbed the pinnacle of fame by providing humanitarian aid to thousands of people in different countries. He has been humanizing the healthcare for the last three decades. With a family lineage known for its philanthropic activities, social commitment came naturally to him. His name stands aloof in philanthropic activities largely because of his will to chase his dreams his zest to overcome the impenetrable barriers, his courage to take up challenges, his hard work, his honesty, and above all his altruistic and humanistic approach to fellow beings. It was his unflinching faith in God which helped Dr. Rabeeh to climb the zenith of humanitarian service in the Arabian Gulf. The man from East Kodur in Malappuram district of Kerala, India, today finds few parallels in medical service in the Gulf. Words such as laziness and apathy have no role in the life of Dr. Rabeeh who brought name and dignity for Keralites in the Gulf. The contributions made by Dr. Rabeeh in popularizing and making the healthcare system affordable and available for the ordinary people have been immense. It was he who literally opened the doors of super-specialty healthcare treatment for ordinary people working in the Gulf. His name today is synonymous with humanitarian healthcare in the Gulf.
Started off 30 years ago with a tiny clinic, Dr. Rabeeh is today offering services through 20 healthcare units, one hospital and as many pharmacies in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar. It has set up a company in Dubai producing medical equipment and other medical disposable items. Shifa Al Jazeera today offers the services of more than 4,000 personnel, including above 700 doctors. More than 35,000 people are getting the services of the Shifa polyclinics every day. The expertise and skill of doctors and paramedics from different countries remains the bulwark of the Shifa clinics in the Gulf.
Dr. Rabeeh spends a large chunk of his income for philanthropic activities. The Shifa Excellence Award instituted by Dr. Rabeeh to honour talents in different areas of social responsibility has been testimony to his commitment to the society. Shifa Award is today counted as one of the most prestigious recognitions for social commitment. For Dr. Rabeeh, charity begins at home in every sense. The pension scheme he implemented at his village is the finest example. He has adopted his native village of East Kodur. He constructed a stadium at Kodur and named after Mohammed Fazalullah. He provided livelihood for dozens of families by offering them free auto rickshaws. He has been supporting dozens of poor students by giving them fees and scholarships. He has won many accolades during the three decades of his service. He has been conferred with the prestigious Pravasi Bharatiya Samman, the highest honour accorded to people of overseas Indian for their pioneering role in enhancing India's image globally.
The Open International University of Sri Lanka recently bestowed its honorary doctorate on him. Dr. Rabeeh has played a vital role in strengthening the socio-economic link between India and other countries.
